Our farm is ideally located in the heart of Chianti, within easy reach of Tuscany's most beautiful cities and villages.
The unofficial capital of the Chianti region, Greve is a lively market town centered around the beautiful Piazza Matteotti with its characteristic medieval arcades. Every Saturday morning, a local market fills the square with fresh produce, cheese, salumi, and artisan goods.
The town is home to the famous Macelleria Falorni, one of Italy's oldest butcher shops, and the Museo del Vino, where you can taste wines from across the Chianti Classico appellation. Several excellent restaurants and enotecas line the streets.
Perched on a hilltop just above Greve, Montefioralle is one of the most beautiful medieval villages in Chianti. Its circular layout of narrow cobblestone streets, ancient stone houses, and small churches has remained virtually unchanged since the 13th century.
This tiny hamlet is thought to be the birthplace of Amerigo Vespucci, the explorer after whom America was named. A short walk around the village walls offers sweeping panoramic views of vineyards and olive groves stretching to the horizon.
The cradle of the Renaissance is less than an hour from our door. Florence needs no introduction — the Uffizi Gallery, the Duomo with Brunelleschi's dome, Michelangelo's David at the Accademia, the Ponte Vecchio, and the Pitti Palace are among the world's greatest cultural treasures.
Beyond the famous museums, Florence is a wonderful city for simply wandering. Cross the Arno to the Oltrarno district for artisan workshops and quieter streets, or climb to Piazzale Michelangelo for the classic panorama of the city.
One of Italy's most enchanting medieval cities, Siena revolves around the shell-shaped Piazza del Campo, where the famous Palio horse race takes place twice each summer. The Gothic cathedral, with its stunning marble facade and inlaid floor, is a masterpiece of Italian art.
Siena's historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is best explored on foot. Wander through the narrow streets of the various contrade (city districts), each with its own identity and traditions dating back centuries.
Known as the "Manhattan of the Middle Ages" for its remarkable skyline of medieval towers, San Gimignano is one of Tuscany's most iconic hilltop towns. Of the original 72 towers, 14 still stand, creating a silhouette visible from miles away.
Inside the walls, the town is a delight of Romanesque churches, small museums, and traditional shops. Don't miss the world-famous gelato at Gelateria Dondoli on the main square, or the local Vernaccia white wine produced on the surrounding hillsides.
Our farm sits in the heart of the Chianti Classico appellation, one of Italy's most celebrated wine regions. The rolling hills planted with Sangiovese grapes produce the famous Chianti Classico DOCG, recognized by the Black Rooster seal.
Dozens of wine estates welcome visitors for tastings and cellar tours. We are happy to recommend our favorites and help arrange visits. Many estates also produce excellent extra virgin olive oil, honey, and preserves. The scenic SS222, known as the Chiantigiana road, winds through some of the most beautiful landscapes in all of Italy.
From wine tasting to hiking, there is something for everyone in the Chianti countryside.
